My friend and I were talking about something, whatever it was.
Then she said this; "Why don't you/Boss/some random get it from the wholesale retailer?"
Me, after approximately 3 seconds (which is a pretty long time), "...where is it?"
Her, "It's down xxxx street. We get all of our stuff from there."
And so on and so on.
My first reaction to her sentence was "Australia has wholesale retailers!???"
...
It came at the same time as this sentence; "Even so, we have wholesale retailers here in [this suburb]!???"
For some reason, I'd been subconsciously believing that Australia is a rural and non-tech-savvy country??
After those thoughts came, "Thailand has wholesale retailers everywhere in every damn province, but Australia have them!??"
Although after those thoughts I immediately went, "Wait. Am I crazy...? What's so strange about that?"
All that ran through my head in under 3 seconds. :/
Why is it strange? Wholesale retailers aren't really tech-savvy, there just warehouses which sell products in their original form, straight from the factory, which makes them much cheaper - because there is no fancy packaging.
ReplyDeleteAlso, restaurants by most of their stuff from retailers because you can bulk buy cheaply. Stuff like takeaway containers, utensils, plates, and glasses. Plus other stuff like drinks and cooking pots and pans, I suppose. :P

ReplyDeleteWe get our takeaway containers from some random company which directly delivers it to our door. That's gotta be more convenient. :/
Utensils, plates, glasses - I dunno. Ask the boss for more information.
Drinks - it depends. We get all the alcohol from some random company which also delivers straight to our door (and I don't think Wholesale Retailers SELL those)
Cooking pots and pans - Meh. Gotta ask the boss, but I think it's either they took it across the border from Thailand or they brought it in Chinatown... Either way, it's imported stuff. :/
We don't get (most of) our stuff from wholesale retailers - we get them from the factories itself. >.>
And they deliver. :3
