...brings me a feeling of total despair. So it's 2012.
I was dreading this year. But I guess it's got to arrive sooner or later. *sigh*
I woke up on the 31st at around 1pm-ish, ate my breakfast-lunch-dinner, then begin reading my daily dose of manga until 3pm. I got up, had a shower, and continued reading manga until 5pm when I left for work.
In other words, just like my any other day (that I don't have to go to school).
I began working at 5pm, one hour earlier than usual.
The first round of customers weren't that busy, but it got a little hectic at 8pm when the second round of customers all came in at once.
That aside, most of the waitresses (three of them) all left at around 10.30pm-ish. There were around 4 to 5 tables left still sitting idly...
I dried the glasses and put the tables back into the restaurant, etc. When all the customers finally left and all the tables were taken back in, it was 11pm-ish.
The glasses were all cleaned and dried yet, and my mum was doing something. I walked over and found three different racks full of cutlery still needing to be dried.
I joined her.
I finished drying the cutlery at around 11.40pm.
I walked over to my auntie/boss (my uncle was also standing nearby since he'd just finished drying the glasses. ^^)
I asked, "What time did I finish today?"
And she said, "...10.30pm..."
Me: I stared at her, "..." Isn't that a bit too much if you're trying to cheat me so that you can pay less!? That's a one-hour difference!
Boss: "...You finished at 10.30pm today? Yeah, 10.30pm."
Me: I continued to stare at her, "...", mostly speechless.
Boss: "...Or 11pm?" she noticed my shock.
Boss No. 2/my uncle: "...Although she just finished drying the cutlery just then."
Me: "Eh... well, 11pm it is then... Yeah, let's just do 11pm..." =="
I walked over to the back.
My mum was doing something, whatever it was.
So I spend that time preciously by taking out my kindle and reading a fanfiction. :)
We walked out of the restaurant and towards our car. As I waited for my mum to open the door of the car for me, I took a look at my watch; 11.55pm.
...
Gaaaah...
We drove to the main street that runs along our local river, shortened to GT.
Stopping a couple of metres short of a certain park, we got out. I looked at my watch, 12pm...
We walked over to the banks of the river and looked at the ridiculously small and lame fireworks. Things perked up a little when a group of people around 40 metres behind us began launching their own fireworks.
We only saw around 6 shots of the real fireworks before they stopped.
Meh,
We went to say hello to E-kun and A-chan/E-chan who'd set up near the restaurant.
After that we went to say hello to more old friends down the road who were partying pretty loudly.
We got home at around 00.40am.
Turned on the TV and found no live end-of-year fireworks.
Meh,
We settled to watching this random movie called, "Sleepover".
We noticed how this was also played on the same day last year...
...it was also my third time watching that movie, and we'd always only get to watch the second half and never the start...
Aww...I missed you!! I was hanging out with A-chan and E-kun too!! But, I left straight after the fireworks, cause the small siblings had to get to bed....Did you get to eat any of the cranberries? They were very yummy~! Or the chocolate? Or E-kun's mum's hedgehog slice thingy?
ReplyDeleteWhat is 'Sleepover' about? Besides from sleepovers, does it have any plot?
I went and they were just about to leave so we only said "hello" and just left.
ReplyDeleteIt's about... two groups of teenage girls on a scavenger hunt against each other; the winner gets to sit in the "good lunch spot" at school instead of next to the rubbish dumps...
And they sneaked out of the house when they were supposed to be having a sleepover....
...I think. I had to guess since I've only watched the second half of the movie (3 times, that is)...
