Kyou wa... Valentine's Day

Today is Valentine's Day... although that's pretty obvious. ==

Like Christmas, Valentine's Day is another pointless thing to celebrate. ...and they're actually celebrating the death of this random priest guy called St. Valentine by giving people stuff. xP (I think it's hilarious...)

But I can't complain too much otherwise it'll seem like I dislike it simply because I don't get anything. :P

This morning I went to school, totally forgetting that it was Valentine's (death) Day until my friend said "Happy Valentine's Day" to me.
And I was then hit with a sense of dread. It... is Valentine's (death) Day.
Meh. ==

You see, at our school, there's this campaign/event thing for Valentine's (death) Day. We can buy "chocolate roses" for whatever-the-hell-dollars, give them the name of the person we want to send it to, and then they'll deliver to our first period classroom.
My friend brought one for me, and this delivery was what I was dreading.
Getting my name called out loud to get a Valentine's (although friendship) chocolate is NOT something I want to happen.
But it happened anyway.
I endured the two-seconds-long attention pretty well. :)

Every time Valentine's (death) day rolls around, I have this friend who'd always go, "Crossing my fingers... I hope that I won't get any Valentine's chocolate."
And I'd raised my eyebrows at her. So you think you'd get Valentine's chocolates...
My two friends used to like her ("used to" being the keyword), but even if they still do, they weren't exactly the type to buy her chocolates. == What was she expecting, really?

Anyway, the point of this post was to relay what happened on this year's Valentine's (death) Day.

All the other girls are ridiculously, pointlessly, unreasonably, and annoyingly excited, too. ==
...What's with them?

Lately...

Finally, it has reached my school.
What is known in my country as... the "Korean Fever".
Not that it's a good... or bad thing. You could say it's not a thing at all.
But the sad thing is that all of my manga and anime friends seemed to have switched their favourite countries in a matter of 3 minutes, average per song. Suddenly, K-pop's popularity sky-rocketed here at my high school. No one seems to be into manga and anime anymore, though that may just be my imagination.

I'm very loyal to my obsession to manga and anime. That may be why I feel slightly betrayed.

I don't even know why I know the names of several different K-pop bands just so I could reply "I know" to the other K-pop fangirls out there once this subject is brought up.

And my K-pop crazed friend is trying to convince me into the current trend, like what she has done to our other friend. I may as well consider this brainwashing...

P.S. If the friend I'd just mentioned is you, please let me remind you that it was mostly a joke. :p
